EVENING
Beside the house, the cherry's flowering,
Above the trees the Maybugs hum,
The ploughmen from the furrows come,
The girls all wander homeward, singing.
And mothers wait the meal for them.
Beside the house, a family supper,

Тарас Шевченко...Мабуть,немає жодного українця,який не знав би Тараса Григоровича.
Тарас Шевченко відіграє важливу роль не тільки в моєму, а й в житті кожної людини. З дитинства матуся і бабуся читали мені вірші Великого Кобзаря, навчали шанувати рідну Україну, любити її понад усе. До речі, досі пам'ятаю перший вірш Тараса Григоровича, який я вивчила в початковій школі й досі він залишається в моїй пам'яті. Хоча, окрім "Садок вишневий коло хати..", знаю ще багато віршів Кобзаря
Т.Шевченко є для нас усім – творцем нації, її духовним батьком і Пророком. Зараз навіть важко уявити, що було б з нашим народом, якби Бог не послав нам таку Велику Людину, думаю, що, можливо, української державності могло б нині і не бути – Він вдихнув у націю оптимізм. Його завжди турбуваля доля народу, він завжди залишався з народом.У нього часто виникало питання, чи буде Україна самостійною державою. Для мене Шевченко є, перш за все, людиною правди, яка веде нас. Завжди залишався українцем, хоч так мало часу був на Україні, – у ньому жив український дух, чого, власне, зараз нам так бракує. Мені аж дух захоплює, коли я читаю його поезію, геніальності немає меж. Нині в кожному будинку є "Кобзар", навіть і портрет Т. Шевченка. Доречі, його твори перекладають іноземними мовами.
